Allen K. Cumberledge
Allen Keith Cumberledge, 80, of Marietta passed away October 19, 2014 at his home.
He was born a native son of West Virginia on December 24, 1933, to Reverend John D. Cumberledge and Allie Gault Cumberledge. He was a graduate of Parkersburg High School and a veteran of the U. S. Army. He retired from Kroger’s in 1995 after 42 years of service. He was a life member of the Fraternal Order of Moose and Masonic Lodge American Union #1 and he was a servant to his community serving for many organizations.
In 1972 he married Sylvia M. McKenzie who survives with children Tera Greenstein of Parkersburg and Randy Cumberledge of Marietta, Paul McKenzie (Karen) of Hollister, CA, Claudia S. Smith of AZ, and Samuel McKenzie of Chillicothe, Colleen Hammond of Cincinnati, several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters Dan and Rita Stephen and Bob and Judy Chichester both of Williamstown.
In addition to his parents, Keith was preceded in death by his first wife Ruth Earl Cumberledge and children, Doug McKenzie and Carole McKenzie Wright and brother Glenn Cumberledge..
Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Thursday, October 23, at Norwood United Methodist Church, 23 Colegate Drive, Marietta, OH with Reverend Stacy Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 pm Wednesday at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with the family present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 and 1 hour at the church prior to the service.
