Arlene Erb
On October 30, 2014 heaven received a beautiful angel, Arlene Erb, 91, went home to be with the Lord on October 30, 2014, at Harmar Place in Marietta. She was born in Woodlawn Beach, New York. She was the daughter of Emma M. Kirkbride Stille and Samuel H. Stille on February 4, 1923.
Arlene was raised in the home of her grandparents, Charles and Nancy Stille. She was a 1941 graduate of Salem Liberty High School. On August 18, 1942, she married Lloyd Emerson Erb. Arlene was a friend to everyone she ever met. She loved flowers, birds, knitting and spending time with her loved ones.
She also loved to talk and tell stories of the past.
She is survived by one daughter Darlene S. Erb and her fiancé Mike S. Poole, three grandchildren: Peggy Shankland Bryant (Terell Bryant), Jason J. Shankland and Trisha L. Poole; three great grandchildren: Kayla N. Shankland, Aalyah M. Bryant and Akaysha K. Shankland, one brother Robert Dale Stille, Sr., several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two sons, Larry Lloyd Erb and Patrick Dale Erb.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday (Nov. 2) at 2:00 pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial following in Salem Township Cemetery.
