Augustine Crislip Metz

Augustine Crislip Metz, 91, of Reno had her faith become sight when the Lord took her home on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at 4:45pm at Harmar Place.

Bulah Augustine Crislip Metz was born August 2,1923 at Brushy Fork, Stouts Run (near Bridgeport) in Harrison County, West Virginia to the late Rollo Ora Crislip and Mae I. Knight Crislip.

Augustine worked at G C Murphy’s for 2 years and the Hazel Atlas for 10 years in Clarksburg. She was a life member of the DAV and VFW. The president and life member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart for many years and had high esteem for all veterans.

 On February 4,1949, she married Daniel Blaine Metz in Clarksburg, WV. After 57 years of marriage Daniel preceded her in death on December 26, 2006.

 Augustine was a homemaker and enjoyed canning, quilting, crocheting, sewing, crafts, playing cards, any games and cooking for her family and friends. She was kind hearted, fun loving and showed compassion and encouragement to everyone. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Augustine attended Moss Run Community Church and was a true Proverbs 31 woman.

 Augustine is survived by 3 daughters and one son: Teena (Don) Dunn of New Matamoras, Karen Metz of Marietta, Nancy (Ralph) DeAndrea of Arlington, TX and Paul Metz of Reno. Six grandchildren: Jonathan (Tonia) Barnes of Fort Worth, TX, Jennifer Barnes of Arlington, TX, Aaron Dunn of Pataskala, Brian Dunn of New Matamoras, Daniel and Hannah Metz of Marietta. She also has two great-grand children Jeremiah and Makenna Barnes of Fort Worth, TX. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and a host of friends along with "step daughter" Naomi Leister and very good friend and neighbor Carla Thomas.

 She was preceded in death by her husband; 3 brothers Paul Dever Crislip, Rollo Bond (Arby) Crislip, Arthur Leonard Crislip; and one sister Thelma Leota Crislip.

 Funeral services will be held on Thursday (Mar. 19) at 1:00pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Smith officiating.  Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday after 2:00 with family greeting friends from 2-4 & 6-8.  Messages of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.Lankfordfh.com.
