Barbara June Feathers
Barbara J. Bender Feathers, 74, of Marietta, who was born on April 14, 1942, passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2016.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Dorothy Ash Bender and one brother, Don Bender.
She is survived by her three children, Robert "Bobby" ( Jill ) Malchiodi of Marietta; Amy ( Brett) Malchiodi Summerville of Marietta; Matthew Feathers of Bethesda, Maryland; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Ingrid Bender, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Barbara was a member of the Church of Christ at Warner, Ohio. She was also a member of the Moose and the Ya Ya Sisterhood where she was given the name Sweet Pea. She was a avid gardener and loved taking care of plants and watching things grow. She had a passion for crocheting as well as a strong desire to make everyone smile and laugh. She wished to thank everyone at Harmar Place and Marietta Home Health and Hospice for their excellent care during her short illness with ALS.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday (Oct. 19) at 1:30 at McClure- Schafer- Lankford Funeral Home, 314 Fourth Street, Marietta, Ohio. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
