Beatrice Viola Varner
Beatrice Viola Varner, 99, of Marietta passed away 6:05 am, July 24, 2016 at the Harmar Place. She was born April 19, 1917 in Beallsville, OH to J.M. and Celeste (Pittman) Truex.
Viola attended Beallsville Schools and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Harmar Hill Church of Christ and was an avid quilter until the loss of her eyesight.
On July 26, 1939 she married Willis D. Varner who preceded her in death on March 21, 2006.
Surviving are her children Terry L. Varner (Brenda) and Randall D. Varner (Susan) both of Marietta, daughter-In-law Donna Varner of Waterford, grandchildren Wendy Coyle, Amanda Guglielmi, Ashley Varner, Adam Varner and Dr. Allie Adams. Also surviving are 5 great grandchildren and a brother Leland Truex of Florida.
In addition to her husband and parents Viola was preceded in death by her son William Varner, and siblings Glenn Truex, Dessie Powell, William Truex, Ray Truex and Russell Truex.
Funeral services will be held 11 am Tuesday July 26th at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning at 9 am on Tuesday until the hour of service. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
