Betty Lee Dawson
Betty Lee Dawson, 81, of Marietta passed away at 6:32 am, Saturday, August 30, 2014, at her home. She was born August 18, 1933, in Braxton, WV, a daughter of Blondi Whitman and Oma Bell Prunty Jackson. She was a homemaker and a member of Sandhill United Methodist Church.
Betty was married to Lawrence “Jeffy” Franklin Dawson, Sr. who survives with 2 children: Lawrence “Larry” Dawson of Marietta and Susan (Tim) Miller of Whipple; 6 grandchildren: Kathy (Shawn) Littleton and Jason (Marie) Dawson of Marietta, Nathan (Jennifer) Sturm and Heidi (Patrick) Smith of Whipple, Krixten (Roe) Bules of Lowell, Demitria Mims of Warren, OH; 12 great grandchildren and 1 great, great granddaughter. She is also survived by 2 brothers and 3 sisters: Howard (Bluette) Jackson, Jim (Shirley) Jackson, Barb (Bill) Black, Liz (Ron) Pepper, Mary Sue (Mark) Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Sherry Lynn Dawson and 2 grandchildren: William Dawson and Carlton Sparks and 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday (Sept. 3) at 2:00 pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Wendy Erb officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.
