Carl C. Burns
Carl C. Burns, 92, of Belpre passed away at 2:42 am, Saturday, January 16, 2016, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born June 22, 1923, in Dunham Township a son of Herbert L. and Bessie Hinton Burns.
He was a 1941 graduate of Belpre High School, a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force serving during World War II and was a member of Cutler Chapel United Methodist Church. He had been employed by Vienna TV Sales and Service and also by Bobier TV.
On June 16, 1946, he married Doris J. Pinkerton who preceded him in death on February 16, 2000.
Carl is survived by 3 sons and 1 daughter: Gary Lee (Marilyn) Burns of Minneapolis, MN, James L. (Karen) Burns of Belpre, Robert P. (Maryanne) Burns of Fleming and Marlene K. (Dale) Lauderman of Marietta; 8 grandchildren: Michael, Christopher, Nathan, Sarah, Benjamin, Matthew Burns, Shawna Singh, Roxanne Cline; 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday (Jan. 19) at 11:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Reverend Earl James officiating.
