Carl E. Fouty

Carl E Fouty, 86, of Newport passed away at 3:21 am, Saturday, October 11, 2014, at his home.  He was born May 1, 1928, in Roan County, WV, a son of Brother Dana and Bessie O’Brian Fouty. 

Carl retired after 28 years of service from Fenton Art Glass.  He was an active member of Newport Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with his family and helping others.

On February 22, 1949, he married Doris Hays who preceded him in death on September 14, 1994.

Carl is survived by 2 sons and 2 daughters:  Ralph “Dan” (Mary) Fouty of Marietta, Brian (Teri) Fouty of New Matamoras, Glenda “Sue” (Carroll) Poynter of Newport, Mary Carllene (Darren) Theobald of Marietta; 6 grandchildren:  Kristin (Gary) Scott, John Poynter, Zachary (Cindy) Fouty, Todd (Tiffany) Fouty, Robert “Bobby” Theoald, Joshua Theobald; 10 great grandchildren; 3 sisters:  Barbara (Ron) Elmore, Shirley Miller, Rose Simmons; brother David (Carol) Fouty, several nieces and nephews and special friend Bonnie Thomas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Carl Eugene Fouty, Jr., brother Kenneth Fouty and 3 siblings who died in infancy.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday (Oct. 15) at 1:00 pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Brown officiating.  Burial will follow in Newport Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday after 2:00pm with family greeting friends from 2-4 & 6-8.  Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
