Clyde Grub, 91, of Marietta died at Harmar Place, Marietta, OH, April 24, 2017. He was born at Sand Hill in Reno, OH, November 28, 1925 the third son of Oscar and Elva Worstell Grub.

He attended Sand Hill School and graduated from Marietta High School in 1943. He proudly served his country in the Army Air Force during WWII. He retired from the Plumbers and Pipefitters local 168. His avocation was restoring old cars for show and sharing the bounty of his garden. He was well known for his defensive glove in fast-pitch softball, a game he thoroughly enjoyed along with telling stories of growing up at Sand Hill. He belonged to the 40/8, was a life member of the American Legion and VFW where he enjoyed playing pool with his friends.
On October 14, 1951, he married Lois Holzapfel who survives along with daughters, Deborah (Scott) McKitrick, her children, Trevor Burton, Scott (Kristin) Huggins and their daughter Audrey, Daughter Denise Grub (Russ Parsons), her children Jaime Toncray ( Steve Newhouse) and her children, Kayla, Kara & Aiden Toncray & Trae (Jayme) Chancellor, their son Colton. Daughter Lisa (Glenn) McNeill, their children Bryan (Cori) Williams their children Natalie & Josh, Benjamin McNeill, Trisha (Andy) Rahe and their son Ian. He is also survived by sister-in-law, Marion Holzapfel Hill and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, brother and sister-in-law, Harley and Jane Seevers Grub, brother Dean Grub, sister Donna DeJongh and brother-in-law Edward Holzapfel.
Funeral service will be at 11:00am on Friday (April 28) at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial following in Valley Cemetery.  Family will greet friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8.  Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
