Dale A. Bauerbach

Dale A. Bauerbach, 79, of Bramblewood Heights, Marietta passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017, at his home. He was born July 7, 1938, in Waterford a son of Paul N and Mildred Meiser Bauerbach.

Dale graduated from Waterford High School, class of 1956. He worked for Marietta Concrete Corp. and also Ohio State University before enrolling at Andrews Barber College in Columbus. He was a barber for 32 years, working in Columbus and Lancaster before returning to Marietta who, along with his wife, owned and operated Pioneer Barber Service, retiring in 1992. They also had apartment rentals for 27 years.

Dale was a member of Gilman United Methodist Church. He enjoyed woodworking and camping, traveling in all the United States including Hawaii, Alaska and also Canada.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Charlene Davis Bauerbach whom he married on October 17, 1964, and his son Troy Jay (Sue) Bauerbach of Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany, grandchildren, Mason and Reese. He is also survived by his brothers: Francis (Darlene Larrick) Bauerbach of Waterford, Harold (Hazel) Bauerbach of Caldwell, Clarence (Kay) Bauerbach of Reno and sisters: Mary Rita Offenberger, Martha (Donald Carpenter) Hunter, Jeanette (Gene) Davis of Marietta, Dorothy (Charlie) Huck of Waterford, good friend and sister-in-law Anna Bauerbach and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Darrin James; brothers Carl Bauerbach, Richard Bauerbach, Louis and Eleanor Bauerbach; sisters, Anna Mae and Edna Marie Bauerbach brothers-in-law Herman Offenberger and John Hunter.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday (Sept. 30) at Gilman United Methodist Church with Pastor Diann O’Bryant and Dr. Lloyd Dennis officiating. Interment will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park. The family will greet friends at the McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8.
