David Hamilton Hensler

David Hamilton Hensler, 73, of Marietta Route 7 went home to be with the Lord at 7:13 pm on Monday, November 18, 2014, at home with his family.  He was born May 7, 1941, in Wheeling, WV to Paul Mathias and Annabelle Shepherd Hensler.

He had operated his own farm in the mid-Ohio Valley with a passion for home grown Marietta tomatoes.  He had learned the produce business as a child from his father and mother and helped to build and establish the existing Hensler’s Market in 1969.  He was owner of the market at the time of his death.

He was married December 24, 1973, to Patsy Sue Neff Hensler who survives.  He is also survived by one son, David Wayne Hensler of Newport Pike and one daughter Alysia Renee Hensler Roux and her husband David of Marietta; 6 grandchildren:  David Riley Hensler, Alora Ann Hensler, Kayne Alexander Hensler, Brayden Taylor Roux, Brionna Renee Roux and Benjamin Allan Roux.  He is also survived by 3 brothers:  Carl R. Hensler of Newport Pike, George H. Hensler of his wife Patty of Stockport and Larry B. Hensler of Newport Pike; three sisters:  Anna Marie Hensler Ward and her husband William of Newport Pike, Eileen Hensler Brown and her husband Don of Pinehurst and Mary Hensler Erb of Leesburg, FL.

He was preceded in death by three brothers:  Paul M. Hensler, Jr., Robert L. Hensler and Daniel R. Hensler and his parents.

Funeral services will be held on Friday (Nov. 21) at 10:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastors Charles and Wonda Hall officiating.  Burial will follow on the Marietta Route 7 family farm.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday after 2:00 pm with family present 2-4 & 6-8.  Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
