Dorothy G. Rhodes Mincks

Dorothy Rhodes Mincks, 94, of Marietta, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 13, 2016, at Harmar Place in Marietta.
 
Dorothy was born on September 8,1921, in Lower Salem, OH to Charles H. and Myrtle Holdren Rhodes. She was a graduate of Lower Salem High School in 1939. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great, great grandmother. Dorothy was a homemaker who enjoyed caring for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed baking and preparing meals and providing a loving home.
 
She is survived by a son Larry R. Mincks (Debbie) and children Debbie Darling of Elizabeth, WV and her daughter and granddaughters Shanna, Reaghan and Ava, Chris Mincks of Hilliard, OH and Shawn Mincks (Allison) of Pickerington, OH and their children Cameron and Grace.
Daughter Darlene Bonnette (James Sr.) and their children Jim Bonnette Jr and his daughter Olivia, Angie Freed (Steve) and their children Drew and Abbey.
Daughter Charlene Bonnette (Lowell) and their daughter Ellen McVicar (Scott) and their children Nathan and Lucas.
Daughter Mona Little and her children J.D. Little (Amy) of Broomfield, Colorado and Lindsay Thomas (Josh) and their children Addison and Hanna of Marietta.
One sister, Willa Knowlton of Whipple, OH and numerous nieces and nephews.
 
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Donald Mincks, son-in-law Oliver Little, grandson Larry Mincks Jr, four sisters; Theora Hughes, Hazel Hartshorne, Bernice Suddarth and Virginia Hupp, 2 brothers Clio and Luther Rhodes and an infant grandson.
 
In keeping with her wishes her body was donated to the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
 
Dorothy's family would like to thank the staff of Harmar Place for her excellent care.
 
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 19 at 11:00 AM at Gilman United Methodist Church, 312 Gilman Avenue with Rev. Diann O'Bryant officiating. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
