Frank Haught

Frank Haught, 87, of New Matamoras, passed away at 1:45pm. Sunday, September 25, 2016, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.  He was born February 6, 1929, at Shay Ridge a son of James Dale and Edith Angie Tice Haught.  Following the death of his parents, he was raised in the home of his Uncle and Aunt, Comer Elijah and Mary Dora Tice Haught.

Frank retired from Union Carbide Metals in 1985.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict in the First Calvary, Company G from 1950-51 with the rank of E7.  He later served in the National Guard.  He graduated in 1947 from Bloomfield High School, was a member of Little Muskingum Grange, Pamona Grange, State and National Grange, served as a trustee for Independence Township, charter member of Little Muskingum Volunteer Fire Department, past president and member of Washington County Electric Co-Op, member and past president of Riverview Credit Union, was a life member of VFW Post 5108 and Shay Ridge Hunting Club.  Along with his grandchildren, he enjoyed garden tractor pulls, feeding and watching hummingbirds and following the career of Lebron James.
 
On May 17, 1952, he married Irene D. West who survives with 2 daughters, Peggy (Craig) Keaton of Marietta and Charlene (David) Chema of Berryville, VA; 4 grandchildren:  James Keaton, John (Amanda) Keaton, Andrew (Kerry) Chema, Amanda (Joshua) Day; 2 great grandchildren, Jackson Elijah and Adeline Mae Keaton, brother Dale (Phyllis) Haught of Shay Ridge.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents and his aunt and uncle who raised him, son James Frank Haught, 2 sisters, Lydia Wallace and Pearl Smith and dog, Max.
 
Funeral services will be held on Friday (Sept. 30) at 10:30 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with David Perry speaking with burial in Temple Cemetery.  Family will greet friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8.  Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
