Franklin D. Tucker, Sr.
Franklin D. Tucker, Sr., passed from this life Friday, May 6, 2016, at his home after a short illness under the care of hospice. He was born September 13, 1941, to Garnet and Alva Tucker.
He was a 1959 graduate of Marietta High School and served 4 years in the U. S. Air Force. Upon returning to Marietta, he worked for Ohio Bell Telephone Co. for 30 years, retired, then he opened Tucker Electric and Plumbing with his son Frank, Jr. until his health failed.
He is survived by his wife, Viola Bush Tucker, children: Kathy and Mark Estes and Frank Tucker, Jr. and Jessica White of Marietta and 3 step children: Denise Thackrah of California, Kurt and Karen Miller of Marietta, and Richard Miller of Marietta. Also surviving are several grandchildren and great grandchildren and sisters, Irene Price and family and Diane Britton and family.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Linda Tucker, several sisters and one brother and his father, mother and one son and one daughter.
A four hour visitation will be held at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home from 4 until 8 pm on Tuesday, May 10, followed by loving cremation. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
