James O Hall, Sr.
James O Hall, Sr., 91, of Reno passed away 11:20 pm, March 8, 2015 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 7, 1923 in Marietta to Charles T. and Mildred (Hutchinson) Hall. James had attended a one-room school house growing up and had retired from Richardson Printing after many years of service. He enjoyed his family, friends and neighbors, hunting, fishing, camping, and loved doing yard work around the house especially mowing the grass. James was a founding and charter member of the Reno Volunteer Fire Dept in 1958 and was instrumental in establishing the natural gas line servicing the Cornerville area in the early 1950’s. He was also a life time member and supporter of the Little Muskingum Congregational Church.
On June 10, 1945 he married Ida Marie House who preceded him in death on December 27, 2013.
Surviving are his children Steven Hall (Janet) of Marietta and Janet Seidel of Worthington, Ohio and a daughter-in-law Mary Jane Hall of Marietta. Also surviving are his grandchildren James O. Hall III (Stacy), Rebecca Davis (Jeff), Tonia Hall, Amy Lauer (David), Stephanie McKee (John), Samantha Seidel, Matthew Seidel; great grandchildren: Eric Hall (Rebecca), Garrett, Jayna and Weston Davis, Brock Lauer and Stevie McKee.
In addition to his parents and wife, James was preceded in death a son James O. Hall, Jr., brothers George Hall, and Gale Hall, and sisters Mary Patterson and Irene Grayson.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 pm Thursday, March 12th at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Joyce Dye officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park. The family would like to thank the Reno VFD and Dr. Carr and the staff of Marietta Memorial Emergency Department for all of the care they gave James.
