Judith Louetta Henderhan

Judith Louetta Henderhan, 64, passed away with her family at her bedside at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio on July the 6th 2017. She was born to the late Laura Lucille Bartmess and Gale Bartmess of Dart, Ohio on January the 22nd 1954.

Judith (Judy) grew up in Dart, Ohio. She attended Lawrence Elementary and Frontier High School. At Frontier High School she was a head cheerleader and graduated in 1972. She married Michael David Henderhan on October 31st, 1975. Judy spent her careers utilizing her great love for, and knowledge of, little children in child care programs, and most recently retired from Pioneer Pete Daycare in Marietta, Ohio.

Judy took great joy in a number of hobbies. She was a voracious reader and lifelong patron of the local library. She loved thrifting, antiquing, and adding to her collections. She enjoyed adding plants and ornaments to her garden. She played tennis often throughout the city, and was an avid fan of the professional level. Most of all, she enjoyed sunshine.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Michael (Mike) Henderhan of Marietta, Ohio, and two sons, Cody J. Henderhan, M.A, of Columbus, Ohio, and Zachary S. Henderhan (Tekela Dawn Henderhan) of Marietta, Ohio, and three granddaughters, Tyesha, GracieAnne, and Kyla. Additionally surviving is her father, Gale Bartmess of Dart, Ohio, a sister, Diane Griffin of Marietta, Ohio, and a brother, John Bartmess of Parkersburg, West Virginia. She is especially remembered as a devoted friend, being survived by Cathy Holland and Betty Potts. The faithful furry companion of she and Mike, Bob, also survives. She is lovingly remembered by a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, as well as the children of her friends. She gave herself wholeheartedly to those she loved.

In addition to her grandparents she was preceded in death by her mother, Laura Lucille Bartmess and a dear friend, Barbara (Barb) Hartel.

Funeral Services will be held 11 am Tuesday, July 11th at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial following in East Lawn Memorial Park.  Friends may call at the funeral home beginning at 2 pm Monday  with the family present from 2-4 and 6-8.   Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
