Larry Albert Strahler

Larry Albert Strahler, 72, of Marietta passed away Saturday, November 14, 2015, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.  He was born February 2, 1943, in Marietta a son of Albert and Juanita Anderson Strahler.

Larry was employed for 39 years at DuPont Washington Works in Parkersburg.  He was a life    member of American Rabbit Breeders Association, secretary of the Blennerhassett Rabbit Club, was involved with 4-H for more than 30 years and helped initiate the Small Animal Sale.  Larry also was on the Small Animal Committee and 4-H Advisory Board for many years working in the rabbit and poultry barn at fair time.  He had been a volunteer at the Marietta Food Pantry and a member of the River City Farmers Market.  Larry liked attending Lucasville Trade Days and showing rabbits all over the United States.  He especially enjoyed his grandson Carson and watching him play baseball.
 
Larry is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda  Hiener Strahler; children: Cathy Strahler, Bryan (Jennifer) Strahler of Marietta and Scott Strahler of Cary, NC; grandson Carson Strahler of Marietta; brothers Roger (Diane), Paul (Rhonda) and Stephan (Kathy) Strahler; brothers-in-law Steve Hiener and John (Sandy) Hiener, father-in-law Ray Hiener and numerous nieces and nephews.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Agnes Lauer, brother Carl Strahler, mother-in-law Doris Hiener, sister-in-law Susie Hiener.
 
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday (Nov.18) at 11:00am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with interment following in East Lawn Memorial Park.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday with family greeting friends from 2-4 & 6-8.   Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com
