Loren Ray Bishop
Loren Ray "Sarge" Bishop, 67, of Marietta passed away at his home Saturday, September 10, 2016. He was born in Springfield, IL, September 22, 1948, to Melvin and Gertrude Voepel Bishop.
Loren was a retired veteran of the U. S. Army and Navy.
He is survived by his step daughter, Amy (Chris) Martin-Halifax of Dennison, OH, stepson John Martin of Marietta, 2 brothers and 3 sisters: Ted (Karen) Bishop, Tony Bishop, Shirley Bishop, Delores Sullivan all of Illinois and Mary (Ron) Smith of Arkansas, sister-in-law Kay Bishop of Illinois, 4 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
His parents, wife Mary, son Michael, 3 brothers and 1 sister preceded him in death.
The family will greet friends on Friday (Sept. 16) from 6 until 8 pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home. Committal service will be held at a later date. Messages of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.Lankfordfh.com.
