Margaret Buchanan
Margaret Buchanan, 78, of Marietta passed away at 7:50 pm on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born July 26, 1937, in Williamstown a daughter of Alfred and Margaret Stevens Gukert.
Margaret was a homemaker and loved watching her grandkids and enjoyed playing Bingo, shuffleboard and cards. She was a member of the Moose Lodge for 33 years, Homemaker’s Club of Lowell and was in charge of sending flowers, cards and food for neighbor’s funerals.
On August 15, 1958, she married David M. Buchanan who survives with 2 sons and 1 daughter: Terry (Chris) Buchanan, JR Buchanan, and Kim Buchanan all of Marietta; grandchildren Chelsea and Ryan Buchanan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 2 brothers Al and Jeff Gukert.
The family sends a special “thank you” to the girls at Marietta Center for all of their compassionate care.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday (Jan. 31) at 2:00 pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Lou Verdi officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Township Cemetery.
