Margaret Ellen Hiener Groves

Margaret Ellen Hiener Groves went to be with her Lord and Savior April 4, 2015 surrounded by her family. She was born April 1, 1924 in Marietta, Ohio the daughter of Walter C. and Ruth A. (LaFaber) Hiener. She married the love of her life, Virgil M. Groves on December 26,1949, who preceded her in death on August 15, 2000.
 
She is survived by two daughters, Virgene (Dave) Robinson of Marietta and Janice (Kenneth) Long of Lowell. Three Grandchildren, Timothy A. (Jessica Rowley) Hall, Kristi (Jason) Burroughs and Michelle Long. Great Grand children, Dominick A. Hall, Alison C Strahler (fiance Tyler Barnhart) Jonah W. DeLong, Emma J. Dutton and Aleha Miller. Great Great Grandchildren Ethan T. Barnhart and Danicka J. Hall. Also step Grandchildren Angela (Mike) Haught, Melissa (Mick) Porter, Dean Robinson. Step Great Grandchildren, Caitlyn and Jacob Burroughs, Meagan (Steven) Rech, Heather Haught, (fiance Jeff Wojton) David Haught, Dustie Porter, Jessie (JR) Hughey, Ashlie Porter, Zack, Levi & Cole Robinson.
 
Margaret was one of eleven children. She is survived by sisters Kathryn Ross, Mary Louise Hockenberry, Florence Bartyczak, Louella Wilson. Brothers Raymond Hiener and Walter Hiener Jr. She was preceded in death by sisters Martha Hudnall, her twin sister, and Helen Yost. Brothers Robert Hiener and Joseph Hiener. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Marty Hiener, Rita Hiener and Grace Wells. Brothers-in-law Richard (Carolyn) Bartmess, Kester Raybuck and Gene Wells. Preceded in death also by brothers-in-law John Yost, Max Ross, George Wilson, Paul Hudnall, Andrew Bartyczak, Richard Hockenberry, and Victor Groves. Sisters-in-law Doris Hiener, MaryAnn Hiener and Wanda Groves, Virginia Bartmess and Loretta Raybuck. Mother and Father-in-law Oley and Bessie Groves. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
 
Margaret had attended Sand Hill UM Church earlier in her life and then attended Marietta Bible Center with her husband.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday (Apr. 8) at 11:00 am at Marietta Bible Center Church with Pastor Myron Guiler officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home on Tuesday after 2:00 with family greeting friends from 2-4 & 6-8 and at the church on Wednesday one hour before the service.  Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
