Mary A Morris

Mary Almeda Steinhoff Morris of Marietta, formerly of Shay Ridge, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at The Arbors surrounded by her loving family.  She was born October 11, 1931, to C.W “Billie” and Eunice Tice Steinhoff.

On April 20, 1952, she married the love of her life Allen W. Morris in Ashland, Mississippi.  Together they raised 5 children:  Allen L. (Tammy) Morris, Deborah D. (Larry) Mincks, Thomas W. “Bill” Morris (deceased), M. Lloyd (Becky) Morris, Pamela K. Coleman.  She was a loving, supportive grandmother who enjoyed attending the activities of her grandchildren or just spending time with them:  Lisa  Handschumacher (Larry Hawes), Jennifer Morris, Larry, Jr., Chris and Shawn (Allison) Mincks, Pierce and Levi (Grace Lee) Morris and Chance Coleman; great grandchildren:  Austin and Mykaela Handschumacher and Cameron and Grace Mincks.
She is also survived by brother-in-law Tommy Jones and sisters-in-law Karen Newberry and Joann Morris, numerous nieces, nephews and friends including Debbie Morris, Barbara DePuy and Stephanie Cochran, long time friend Carolyn Handschumacher, long distance friends Ilo Hoskins and Joan Busch. 
She was preceded in death by her husband on March 20, 1998, and son on December 3, 2004, her parents and brothers, Howard and Harry Steinhoff and sister, Wretha Steinhoff Jones and an infant brother.
She had retired from the Ohio State Nursery in Reno.  Almeda was a member of Point Pleasant Christian Union Church where she was Sunday School Superintendent.  She had attended Gilman United Methodist Church the last 4 years.  She enjoyed reading her Bible and listening to the Bible on CD.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday (Oct. 4) at 11:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Diann O’Bryant officiating.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday after 2:00 with family present 2-4 & 6-8.  Interment will be in Muskingum Valley Cemetery on Tice Run Road.
