Mildred Alice Wright
Mildred Alice Wright, 84, of Marietta passed away on Monday evening, March 31, 2014, at Heartland of Marietta. She was born on February 4, 1930, in Swiss, WV, a daughter of Alvin J. Hardway and Mary I. Wright. Mildred was a member of the First Baptist Church in Williamstown and had attended Twin Rivers Baptist Church. She had made her home with Lavina McMahan and helped care for elderly residents in Lavina’s home until her retirement. Mildred was loving and kind. She enjoyed her church, going to lunch and talking with friends.
Mildred is survived by her close friend of 48 years, Kay Singo; Dan McMahan whom she helped raise, and her friend Penny Augenstein. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Carl Wright and sister Ruby Wright and her friend Lavina McMahon.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday (Apr. 3) at Williamstown Baptist Church with Pastor Glen Perry officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the church after 1:00 pm on Thursday. McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
