Mildred Marie Handschumacher
Mildred Marie Handschumacher, 88, of Warner passed away at 12:00 pm Sunday, April 20, 2014, at her home. She was born October 1, 1925, in Harriettsville, OH, a daughter of the late Alexander Joseph and Emma Leona Wallace Smithberger.
Mildred had been employed by Timkin Roller Bearing Company in Canton and Remington Rand in Marietta and owned and operated “Hank’s Place” in Warner. She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed working in her garden, watching sports on TV and was a great cook. She was a Catholic by faith.
She married Harry “Hank” W. Handschumacher who preceded her in death.
Surviving are 2 sons and 1 daughter: Larry Dean (Jane) Handschumacher of Beverly, Carolyn Sue Sidwell of Greensboro, NC, Terry Lee (Pamela) Handschumacher of Bridgeport, WV; grandchildren: Thomas W. and Kirk M. Sidwell, Angela Marie Bush, Jon Harry Handschumacher, Stacy Marie Archer, Lisa Renee Hibbard, Dustin Eric, Amy Lynn and Alex J. Handschumacher; 9 great grandchildren; her brother Edgar (Hazel) Smithberger of Harriettsville and daughter-in-law Barbara Handschumacher of Barlow.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son Gary Gene Handschumacher and sister Lucille Crum.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday (April 24) at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Father Timothy Shannon officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Township Cemetery.
