Miriam Gay Harrison, 61, of South Parkersburg, WV, passed away on July 29, 2017 at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital. She was born in Kingsville, TX on February 4, 1956, a daughter of the late Keith and Praxedis Vega Harrison.

Miriam graduated from Marietta High School in 1974 and was a homemaker. Her favorite activities included attending South Parkersburg United Methodist Church and being embraced and surrounded by her church family. She loved to walk all over the community passing out quarterly devotional booklets to everyone she met. Miriam rarely met a stranger and enjoyed socializing with friends she met near and far on her daily walks.

Miriam is survived by one son and two daughters: Caleb (Sussie) Hitt of Marietta, Rebecca (Dan) Wyatt of Parkersburg, Joy (Shawn) Jonas of Huntington; 10 grandchildren: Bryan, Zachary and Kaitlyn Bailey, Ella, Eli and Eden Jonas and expected is Ian Jonas; step grandchildren: Charity (Brian) Wise, Trevor (Jamie) Wyatt, Jenna (Gavin) Jones; 9 step great grandchildren. Also surviving are four brothers and sisters, Dorothy Lowe (Mike) of Marietta, Johnny Ray Harrison of League City, Texas, Paula Warne of Marietta and David Harrison of Marietta.

Miriam was preceded in death by her parents, Keith and Peggy Harrison, and one elder sister, Linda M. Theobald and granddaughter, Miracle Hope Jonas.

Funeral services will be held on Friday (Aug. 4) at 10:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Plyburn officiating. Interment will follow in Tunnel Cemetery.
