Opal M. Sauer
Opal M. Sauer, 85, of Marietta passed away at 11:29pm, Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at her home. She was born August 13, 1931, in Marietta to John Frank and Myrtle Knott Baker.
Opal was a homemaker. On July 16, 1955, she married Benjamin Franklin Sauer who preceded her in death on May 12, 1972.
Opal is survived by 2 sons and 3 daughters: Cathey Brayman of San Diego, CA, Linda White of Marietta, Benjamin Franklin (Thersa) Sauer of Marietta, Ellen (Jim) Carpenter of Marietta and Michael Sauer of Marietta; 9 grandchildren: Mark, Jennifer, Aimee, Tiffany, Pamela, George, Ryan, Corey, Autumn; 5 great grandchildren: Skyler, Brooklynn, Baylie, Sebastian, Renesmee and Opal’s sister Mildred Shuck of Marietta.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 sisters: Helen Singer, Maxine Bishop and Edna Hupp; 2 brothers: Lyal Goodson and Wilbert Stollar.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday (Nov. 25) at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Victoria Garten officiating. Friends may call at the funeral one on Friday after 12:00 noon until the hour of the service. Burial will follow in Gravel Bank Cemetery.
