Paul Wanzo, Jr.
Paul Wanzo, Jr., 85, of Marietta passed away at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at home with his family. He was born September 13, 1930, in Marietta a son of Paul E. Wanzo, Sr. and Helen Hill Wanzo. Paul was employed at Union Carbide and Elkem, retiring in 1988. He graduated from Marietta High School where he excelled in all sports and was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a Golden Glove Boxer, an avid painter and loved his grandchildren.
Paul married Shirley Hammond who survives with their daughter Cindy (Bruce Neader) Wanzo of Marietta, grandson Jesse Wanzo Neader, granddaughter Jaye (Benito Narvaez) Neader, great grandson Jackson Paul Narvaez and 2 sisters Jean Wanzo Lincoln of Marietta and Joan Wanzo Green of Gary, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers and 1 sister: Lois Wanzo, Donald Wanzo and Robert Wanzo.
Funeral services will be held Sunday (Jan. 24) at 3:00 pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with full military honors. The family will greet friends at the funeral home before the service on Sunday from 1:00 until the hour of the service.
