Phillip E. Whipkey
Phillip E. Whipkey, 66, of Marietta passed away Friday, July 24, 2015, at The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus. He was born October 29, 1948, in Wheeling, WV, a son of Carl Whipkey and Mary E. Parker Whipkey.
Phillip was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam and was a life member of VFW #5108.
He is survived by 3 daughters, Lesa Whipkey and fiancé Rick Hartshorn of Fleming, Theresa Erb and husband Jason of Fleming, Michelle Ward of Belpre, 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is also survived by 4 brothers and 2 sisters: Clyde, Greg, Mike and Danny Whipkey and Barbara Riggle and Betty Neely. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Levi Whipkey.
A gathering of friends will be held on Sunday (Aug. 9) at VFW Post 5108, 319 Pike Street, Marietta from 1:00 until 4:00. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to VFW Post 5108 in his name.
