Phillis Stalnaker Reger Newell
Phillis Stalnaker Reger Newell 1923-2016 Formerly of Bohl Dr., Marietta, Ohio. Born March 19, 1923, in Charleston, WV, to Russell and Laura Raines Stalnaker.
She married Carlos Reger in April of 1940, who died in 1973. Phillis married John Ross Newell in September of 1977, who died in 1998. She is survived by two daughters and one son: Linda Wetmore (Frank) of Kent, OH, Lucille Witner (Tom) of Pulaski, TN, and Carlos Reger (Judy) of Christana, TN; two sisters: Delores Hupp of Largo, FL, and Janice Augustien (Brent) of Sun City Center, FL; one brother: Elmer Stalnaker (Scottia) of Colorado Springs, CO, and one sister-in-law: Erma Stalnaker of Eldridge, IA. She will also be greatly missed by her 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Lilas Kay Moore of Marietta, two brothers: Fisher and Buel Stalnaker, and one sister: Thelma Williams of Lowell, OH, OH. Phillis was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Marietta. A retired beautician of 30 years, she had been the owner of Devola Hairstyling in Devola, OH. The twinkle in her eye and her loving words of wisdom and guidance will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
