Raoma J. Wagner

Raoma Jean Schultheis Wagner known to many as “to mocka to” passed away on July 14, 2015 at Marietta Memorial Hospital and had been a resident of Harmar Place for over nine years.

She was born to Raymond M. and Ruth Bogard Schultheis May 5, 1932 at Cornerville, Ohio.

She graduated from Marietta High School in 1950. Raoma was known by customers for her pleasant personality and smiles as owner of The Plaza Gift Shop, Front Street, Marietta, Ohio and when employed at Sunmart on Muskingum Drive. She was a member of Norwood United Methodist Church since 1954 and Pioneer Ladies Civitan. Raoma enjoyed traveling with her husband Dale and other family members to many fun vacation spots and especially to Nashville (Fanfair) to enjoy the music of her favorite country music artists. She would always wear and rub her OSU Buckeye necklace, which Natalie would make sure she was wearing for good luck, as she watched and cheered on the football team with her husband.  She was a member of an Ohio Child Conservation League, aka CCL group, active with children’s PTA activities, enjoyed playing canasta with girlfriends and family members. She mostly enjoyed and loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her high school sweetheart Dale E. Wagner whom she married on September 2, 1950  and children:  Kathy Jean  (Mark) Bartlett, Mike E. (Tammy) Wagner and Dale R (Sonja) Wagner.  Grandchildren:  Mitchell E Wagner (Emily), Christa Holman (Shannon), Maridith Wagner, Jenna Boley (Ryan), Rylee Wagner (fiance Matthew Harper), Kellyn Leverett (Zach), Avery Wagner (fiance Elias Wood) and Chris Ley (Megan).  Great Grandchildren:  Ava, Lex, Maddie Wagner, Ayden, Coen Holman,  Kallie Boley and Kolbie Harper. Also, survived by her sister, Martha Lang (Gerald), brother-in-law Calvin E. Wagner (Sue), sister-in-law Ruth Carver, and many nieces and nephews.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Evelyn Kelley (Richard), Wilma Krauss (Harry), one brother Ralph Schultheis, and sister-in-law Alice Schafer and grandchild Elliot Ley.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home, with burial in East Lawn Memorial Park.  The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Friday morning before the service from 9-11 a.m.  Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.

Raoma was truly blessed and grateful for having her loving husband whom was by her side every day.
