Roger David Patterson
Roger David Patterson 75, of Marietta, St. Rt.676 went to be with our Lord and Savior after fighting cancer for over 4 years at home May 2, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. He was born June 17, 1939, to Wayne & Alberta Barth Patterson. He was a member of the Bethel Lighthouse Church, Co. Rd. 126, Board and Deacon member for many years. He served in the Army from Oct. 1962 to Oct.1964. He worked in the oil field with his grandfather and father and later was a coal truck driver, retiring April 2004.
He is survived by his loving wife, Clyta Swartz Patterson, whom he married March 6, 1966 at Sandhill Methodist Church, Reno, OH and 2 sons and 2 daughters: Anthony Roger (Amy), children, Aaron (Halley), Andrew Patterson; Mark David (Dena), children, Mitchell Patterson and step-son Austin Wickem; Angela Clyta and daughter Melanie Morgan; Selena Necia (Calvin) Shackleford. Also survived by two brothers, Rodney (Caroline), daughter Leigh Ann and Leslie (Mary), children, Todd, Jody and grandchildren and several classmates, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, aunts and uncles, many cousins and friends, classmates.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday (May 6) at 10:00 am at Bethel Lighthouse Church with Pastor Gary Drake and Pastor Kevin Gutberlet officiating. Will be buried at Creighton Ridge Cemetery.
