Ruth Eleanora Strahler

Ruth Eleanora Strahler, 91, of Lowell passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2017.  She was born March 29, 1926, in Churchtown,  a daughter of Andrew and Mary Lang Schaad.  

She graduated from Lowell High School and in her early life worked at Marietta Chair Company before becoming a homemaker and raising her 10 children.  She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and the Catholic Women’s Club and volunteered at Lowell Food Pantry.  She loved family gatherings and playing Eucher and Bingo.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
On September 10, 1945, she married Dale George Strahler who preceded her in death on September 22, 1992.
Ruth is survived by her children:  Jane (Larry) Handschumacher of Beverly, Linda (Keith) See of Waterford, Karen (Frank) Davis of Marietta, Sharon Warden of Vienna, WV, Tom Strahler of Waterford, Dave (Linda) Strahler of Lowell, Dean (Brenda) Strahler of Marietta, Dan (Debbie) Strahler of Lowell, Joe (Clarissa) Strahler of Lowell, 28 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Robert Dale Strahler, sister Eunice Taylor, brothers:  Howard, Regis and Robert Schaad.
Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday (Dec. 1) at 10:00am at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church with Father Timothy Shannon as Celebrant.  Burial will follow in Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.  Family will greet friends at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 with Vigil Service at 4:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home.  Messages of sympathy may be sent to the family at
