Ruth Ellen Morgan
Ruth Ellen Morgan, 92, of Mobile, Alabama, formerly of Marietta passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2014, in Mobile. She was born in Stanley County, NC, on May 22, 1922, a daughter of William A. and Sarah Hunycutt Lambert. Ruth was a resident of Marietta from 1947 until 2009 where she was active in Campus Martius Museum, Ohio Historical Society, and the Children’s Toy and Doll Museum. She enjoyed knitting.
Ruth is survived by 2 sons, Zeb Brent (Tommie) Morgan of Mobile and William Van Morgan of Stratham, NH; granddaughter Laura (Byron) Dawes of Mobile, grandson Timothy (Sarah) Morgan of Ann Arbor, MI, great grandsons: Timothy, William and Charlie Dawes of Mobile, and 2 sisters: Mary Jewel (Ira) Chapman of Charlotte, NC and Hazel (Gene) Hampton of Kannapolis, NC.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Zeb Van Morgan and brother Cecil Lambert.
Family will greet friends on Friday evening from 7:00 until 8:30pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with funeral services on Saturday (August 2) at 10:00am at East Lawn Memorial Park with Pastor Stephen Mahaffy officiating.
