Sandy Rowell
Sandra Lee Rowell, 77, of Williamstown, WV, died peacefully at home August 1, 2016. Born July 20th, 1939, at Camden Clark Hospital, Parkersburg to Kenneth Stump, and Wilma Hardman Stump.
Sandra grew up in Grantsville, WV, sharing a home with her mother, sister Rosemary, Grandparents, Gona and Ova Hinzman Hardman, and cherished uncle, James Hardman.
After graduating from Calhoun Co. High School 1957, then Glenville State College 1962, she taught at Parkersburg Catholic, Lawrence, Frontier, and Waterford High schools. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Williamstown.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Thomas Daniel Rowell. Also surviving are three children; Amber R. (Jeffrey) Smart of Agoura Hills, CA; Daniel B. (Jennifer) Rowell of Laurel, MD; Laurie A. (Michael) Allington of Tampa, FL, sister Rosemary (Gary) Sherwood of Tulare, CA; 10 grandchildren; Qiufei, and Axel Smart; Jessica (Steve) Kessler, Seth, Sam, Emily, and Jackie Rowell; John, Lukas, and Sarah Allington; nephew, Stephen Norman of Oroville, CA, and niece Kelly Yeager of Tulare, CA; cousins, Harold Barr Proudfoot of Brookfield Center, PA and Harriet Proudfoot McCoy of Parkland, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth (1941) and Wilma Stump (1988) and in-laws Dan (1969) and Bertha Rowell (2009).
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at McClure – Schafer -Lankford Funeral Home, with Pastor Elizabeth Campbell-Maleke officiating. Burial will follow at the Riverview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Wednesday August 3rd and 1 hour prior to the service on Thursday.
