Shirley A Schilling

Shirley A. Schilling, 81, of Barlow went to be with the Lord on November 30, 2016 at OSU Medical Center surrounded by loved ones.
 
She was the oldest daughter of  the eleven children of William Lester and Eleanor (Miller) Bohl.  Shirley was a 1953 graduated of Vincent High School and had worked at Marietta Memorial Hospital before retiring from Warren Local Schools after 25 years of service.    Shirley was a member of the Barlow Presbyterian Church where she had played the piano up until the time of her illness.  She was a member as well as Past-President of the Church Ladies Aide, a board member for the Westminster Preschool and served on the Ladies Aux for the Barlow Fire Department as well as many other community organizations and activities.
 
She married the love of her life of 60 years, Bernard E. Schilling on March 14, 1956, who survives with children Patricia Martin (Bob) of Vincent, and Douglas Schilling (Michelle) of Marietta.  Also surviving are grandchildren Desiree Schilling-Sigman (Joseph) of Marietta, Angela Martin (Chuck Clark) of Vincent and D.J. Schilling of Marietta, and great grandchildren Christopher, Johnathan  and Noah Snider, and  Tori, Sami, Alex, and Keith Schilling.  Sisters: Judy Lang of Marietta, Diana Lang (Martin) of Vincent, Sharon Kegley (William) of Vincent, and Pamela Augenstein of Oak Grove and brothers Lewis Bohl (Maxine) of Fleming and William Bohl (Joan) of Vincent also survive.
 
In addition to her parents Shirley was preceded in death by a son Roger Schilling, brothers Gary and Robert Bohl and sisters Mary Schilling and Brenda Heiss.
 
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Friday December 2nd at Barlow Presbyterian Church with burial to follow in Barlow Central Cemetery.  Friends may call at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home from 4 pm to 8 pm on Thursday and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.  Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
