Thelma Leota Turner
Thelma Leota Turner, 97, of Marietta passed away Nov. 15, 2015 at Marietta Center. She was born May 12,1918 in Marietta a daughter of the late Asa and Minnie Seevers.
She was employed as operator for Ohio Bell until her retirement. She loved being with her grandchildren and loved to travel.
She is survived by her five children; Michael Turner of Marietta, Rodger (Janet) Turner of Marietta, Sandra Turner of Columbus Oh., Cynthia (Alan) Lewis of New Hampshire, and Steven (Rhonda) Turner of Marietta. Also nine grandchildren; Gary Turner, Debbie (Tulsa ) Green, Kristie (Chris) Castle of Columbus; Joshua Turner of Charleston, South Carolina; Heather (John) Trask of Orlando, FL; Justin (Jess) Lewis of Maine; Noelle (Jim Hernandez) of Denver, Co; Kelly Turner, and Erin Turner of Marietta and eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Howard Turner, three sisters, and daughter-in-law Carrie Mae Turner.
The family would like to thank the staff at Marietta Center for their compassionate care of Thelma.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday (Nov. 21) at 10:30am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Schmelzenbach officiating. Interment will follow in Valley Cemetery.
