Violet Gilland

Violet Gilland, 98, of Boaz passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2015, at Grant Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She was born on March 11, 1916 in Jackson County, WV a daughter of James and Nellie (Wilcox) Miller. She was a member of the Riverside Church of Christ in Williamstown.

Violet is survived by her daughter Irene Vanscoy, 3 nieces and 3 nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Gilland, siblings Ross Miller, Alwin Miller, Oral Miller, Dorothy Chewning, Letha Williamson and Eva Collins.

According to her wishes, she will be cremated and there will be no services observed. McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home is assisting the family.
