William E. Franks
William E. Franks, 78, of Macksburg passed away at 3:20pm Monday, July 28, 2014, at OSU East in Columbus following a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was born September 2, 1935, in Lower Salem a son of William Ray Franks and Edna Anna Stille Franks. He an owner operator truck driver, was a member of the Ohio National Guard, enjoyed spending time with family, restoring antique cars, going to flea markets and farming.
On November 13, 1954, he married Mary Frances Lewis who preceded him in death on June 30, 2004.
He is survived by 1 son and 2 daughters: Benjamin E. Franks of Macksburg, Barbara (Michael) Gilchrist of Coolville, Joanne Davis of Nashport, OH; 5 grandchildren: Matthew, Andrew and Sarah Boyd, Devon and Lindsey Davis; 3 great grandchildren: Mackenzie, Kaylea and Joel Boyd, his sister Nancy Green of Massachusetts and special friend Evelyn DeVaughn. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Funeral services will be held Friday (August 1) at 11:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial following in Salem Township Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8. Messages of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.Lankfordfh.com.
