William G. Bennett

William G. Bennett, 85, of Belpre, Ohio, passed away at 1:15am, Sunday, November 16, 2014, at Marietta Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation.  He was born April 11, 1929, in Gilmer County, WV, a son of James Lloyd and Amanda Bennett.

Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II stationed in Camp Breckenridge, CO. He worked in sales and delivery, retiring from Pepsi Cola Company.  He attended Twin Rivers Baptist Church.

He is survived by l daughter and 2 sons:  Evelyn (Leonard) Callihan of Colorado Springs, CO, David (Karen) Bennett of Marietta, George Bennett of Suffolk, VA, 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, his sister Ella Mae Kendall and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 1 sister.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday (Nov. 19) at 3:00 pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with his nephew Wayne Bennett officiating.  Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park with full military services.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 and on Wednesday until the time of the service.  Messages of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.Lankfordfh.com.
