James Dean “Deano” Hartshorn, 58, of Cutler passed away on Monday, May 20, 2019. He was born on April 4, 1961, in Marietta a son of William “Jack” Hartshorn and Katherine “Katie” Schultheis Hartshorn.

He was a graduate of Marietta High School and Washington County Career Center in 1979 and served in the Army National Guard. He was employed by the City of Marietta Street Department for 24 years. Deano liked to play golf and softball, watch sports, especially his grandson playing football and spending time with his dogs Smoke, who preceded him death, and Hoss who survives.

He is survived by his daughter Jennifer (Jack) Conant of Cutler; grandchildren: Cole Conant, Baylea, Carder, Sean, Maddie, Cherish and Wyatt McKitrick, Brody and Cason Karcher; his sister Mary Ruble, nieces and nephews: Shane and Shawn Hartshorn, Jamie Metcalf, Melissa Ruble, Jodi Metheney, Linda Bauerbach, Jake Ruble, Marcus and Rikki Groves and several great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Mike and David Ray Hartshorn and brother-in-law Marvin Ruble.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday (May 25) at 10:30 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with the Mayor Joe Matthews officiating. Family will greet friends at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 and before the service on Saturday. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
