Barbara McClain Campbell

Barbara Catherine McClain Campbell, 74, of Reno, went home to her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 26, 2019, at home surrounded by her family, after a one-year battle with cancer.Barb was born on January 5, 1945, in Sugar Camp, West Virginia, to Ira and Myra McClain.

Barb had worked for Walmart for 20 years in customer service, until her illness forced her to retire. She was a member of Souls Harbor Baptist Church. Barb truly loved her family and friends. The true highlights of her life were her grandchildren.

On June 15, 1963, she married William E. Campbell, who survives, along with their son, Daniel, of Reno, his wife, Tricia, and their two children, Joshua and Jordyn. Also surviving are her siblings, Gertrude “Lenora” Lattea of Oldtown, MD; Mary Jean Calvert, of Clarksburg, WV; Sharon E. Reckart, of Bridgeport, WV; Elizabeth A “Betty” Fultineer, of North View, WV; Richard N. McClain, of Clarksburg, WV; James R.McClain, of Mt. Clare, WV; and Everett B. “Blain” McClain, of Clearwater, FL. She is also survived by many wonderful nieces, nephews and special friends.

A very special thank you to her very close friends, Sharon Karcher and Sally Newlen for all of their love and support; and to Ally Campbell for taking such good care of Aunt Barb. It is safe to say that everyone that knew Barb loved her, and she equally loved everyone back. She will be deeply missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, William A. McClain.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 30th, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 at McClure-Shafer-Lankford Funeral Home.
