Betty Ruth Merrow

Betty Ruth Merrow, 87, of Fleming, Ohio, passed away at 4:48 pm, Sunday June 2, 2019, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born April 6, 1932, in Wood County, WV, a daughter of John and Ollie Ludwig Clegg.

Betty was employed at Harts Family Center, retiring after 27 years. She was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church of Barlow. She enjoyed her flower gardens and coloring pictures for military personnel through the church.

On November 4, 1950, she married Junior Merrow who survives with one son and three daughters: Randy (Abby) Merrow of Beverly, Cheryl (Michael-her favorite son-in-law) Montgomery of Williamstown, Penny Lane Merrow of Parkersburg and Jacqueline Merrow-Hall of Fleming; grandchildren: Michele Shamblin, Heather Dawn Gray, Michael Paul Keith, Jarrod Merrow, Amanda O’Brien,  Jessie Lee Stafford and several great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Delbert Clegg and sister Helen Schoeppner and her faithful Buddy Roo D (the “D” is for Dog).

She was preceded in death by her parents, 7 brothers and 3 sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday (June 6) at 11:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Salem Township Cemetery.
