Dale David Goddard, Jr.

Dale David Goddard, Jr., went peacefully asleep in the Lord, October 4, at Marietta Memorial Hospital, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

He was born October 8, 1965 in Marietta, Ohio to Dale D. Goddard, Sr., and Brenda Gray Goddard.

He was owner of ASAP General Construction up until his illness. He was a 1984 graduate of Marietta High School and an athletic standout. He was a sports enthusiast and sponsored many Men’s Softball Teams; a two time National Runner up and seven time State Team Championship. He was a proud member of the Patriot Guard Riders.  He truly loved the outdoors and loved God’s creation, accumulating many photos of his adventures and travels.

He is survived by his father Dale D. Goddard, Sr. (Vicky), and his mother Brenda Hartlage (Jim); his brother, Shane Michael Goddard of Charleston, SC., his sons, Tad Goddard (Maggie), Nathan (Katy) Goddard, and daughter Taylar Mae Goddard and by the mother of his children, Kimberly Roberts Goddard.

He is also survived by his very special friend, sweetheart, and caregiver, Yavonia Hill
and her son, Destin Newsome and by his lifelong friend, Shawn Conley, and his trusty sidekick, Buddy the Rottweiler. Grandchildren: Tacie mae, Annberlee, Jalynn, Kai Joseph and Mikah Goddard; stepbrothers: David, Dan, Jim, John, Dean, Donn, Drew Schafer, and Jon Hartlage; stepsisters, Kerry Carver, Denise Le Davis, and Tiffany Hartlage.

The family would like to thank the loving care of Dr. Kelli Cawley and the staff of Strecker Cancer Center and the Intensive Care staff at MMH.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with interment following in East Lawn Memorial Park. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8. Messages of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.Lankfordfh.com.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the funeral home to help with Dale’s funeral expenses.
