Denver Earl Hesson, 77, of Marietta passed away on Friday, September 20, 2019, at his home. He was born May 28, 1942, in Elba, OH, to James and Mary “Judy” Schott Hesson.

Denver was a graduate of Salem Liberty High School and Riggs LaMar Barber College in Akron, OH. He was a barber for 58 years. He also was a fiddle player for square dances around in the area for many years. He was a Mason in American Union Lodge #1 and the Loyal Order of Moose #1823 and Legion of the Moose #192.

On August 26, 1962, he married Dorothy Thomas who survives with one son and one daughter: Deanna (friend Gib) Hesson and Douglas (Michelle) Hesson both of Marietta. He is also survived by grandson, Justin who was raised in the home, 2 granddaughters, Ali and Shelby, 3 step grandchildren, 2 great granddaughters, 3 step great grandchildren and brother-in-law Tom Rossiter of Caldwell, niece Lisa Rossiter Jennings.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son Duane, sister Delores Rossiter, niece Tammy Rossiter, nephew Jamie Rossiter.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday (Sept. 24) at 11:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with interment following in Salem Township Cemetery. Family will greet friends at the funeral home on Monday after 2:00 pm. Messages of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.Lankfordfh.com.

A special “Thank You” to the Strecker Cancer Center, Dr. Kelli Cawley, Dr. Marsha McCullough and to hospice nurses, Rosie, Tammy and Kim for their excellent care.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Earl’s name to St. Paul’s Evangelical Church, Strecker Cancer Center or Warren Fire Department.
