Earl Leroy Kuhn

Earl Leroy Kuhn, 81, of Marietta passed away at 4:48 pm on Friday, September 27, 2019, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. He was born November 28, 1937, in Marietta to Lorena Beatrice Cameron Kuhn and Earl Pershing Kuhn.

Leroy had been employed by Ohio Power Company, Marietta Wholesale Grocery, Marietta City Schools and retired from Selby General Hospital. He attended Canton and Marietta Schools and was a member of the Ohio National Guards for 9 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 64 and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #2382. Leroy was an avid sports enthusiast, bowled in several leagues including North Hill Lanes and Pastime Lanes in Marietta, Willow Lanes in Belpre and Emerson Lanes in Parkersburg where he was a member of the “700” club. He liked all sports, especially football (Cleveland Browns), Nascar racing (Jeff Gordon) and horseshoe pitching. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren race 4-wheelers and sprint cars.

On December 1, 1962, he married Ruth Ann Schrader at Trinity United Methodist Church. She survives with one son, Darin Leroy (Charlene) Kuhn; 2 grandchildren, Casey Marie Kuhn of Vienna, WV and Zachary Branden Kuhn of Marietta; great granddaughter Kimber Kuhn; brother Clarence E. Kuhn of Whipple and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and maternal grandparents, brother Roger Kuhn and several uncles.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday (Oct. 3) at 2:00 pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with interment following in Valley Cemetery. Family will greet friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8. Messages of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.Lankfordfh.com.
