Ernest W. Wittekind

Ernest W. Wittekind, 73, of Belpre passed away at 3:15 am, Saturday, August 3, 2019, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born March 15, 1946, in Boaz, WV, a son of Everett and Martha Jean Poling Wittekind.

Ernest had been employed as an electrician at Union Carbide and on the Belpre Toll Bridge. He was a member of Warehouse Church in Parkersburg. He enjoyed deer hunting and motorcycle riding and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He married Vicki Bradford who preceded him in death. He is survived by 2 sons and 1 daughter: Parrish (Kim) Wittekind of Fleming, Troy Wittekind of Lowell, Sabrina Wittekind of Marietta; 5 grandchildren: Corey Wittekind, Kailah McAllister, Brandon Wittekind, Carina Mugrage, Christopher Wittekind; 2 great grandchildren, Parker McAllister and Owen McAllister, and his best companion Jack.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his son William Wittekind, sister Judy Grosklos and brother Larry Wittekind.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday (Aug. 7) at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial following in Tunnel Cemetery.
