George W. Cady
George W. Cady, 100, of Reno passed away at 11:45 pm, Thursday, July 16, 2020, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born February 18, 1920, in Marietta a son the late Ray and Fanna Worstell Cady.
George graduated from High School in Wooster, Ohio. He served in the U. S. Army where he trained as a Medic. He worked as a tool dresser for oilrigs and on many different wells in the area. George loved the sport of football and had played football as a quarter back in school. He was a huge sports fan and was also a volunteer at the Marietta Recycling Center for over 20 years.
On November 18, 1964, he married Mildred Patterson who preceded him in death on September 22, 2017. He is survived by 3 daughters: Jenny (John) Dolak of Sierra Vista, AZ, Lynn Cady of Marietta and Susan Cady of Reno; grandchildren, Emmett Cady and Aidan Tatro and niece Jill Skidmore Yee.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Glenda Skidmore and brother, Earl Cady.
The family will greet friends on Tuesday (July 21) from 2-4 and 6-8 at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
