Jessie J. Haught

Jessie J. Haught, 81, of New Matamoras, Ohio, passed away at 1:35pm on Friday, April 5, 2019, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born January 31, 1938, in Washington County a daughter of James and Minnie Williams Briggs.

Jessie was a homemaker and a member of Salem Hall United Methodist Church, Woman’s Auxiliary of the VFW at New Matamoras and the Midway Community Center. She enjoyed Face Book.

On January 2, 1956, she married John L. Haught who preceded her in death on February 14, 1994. She is survived by 2 sons and 2 daughters, Gregory (Michele) Haught of Star Route Reno, Matthew (Kelly) Haught of Botkins, OH, Brenda (Gerald) Armstrong of New Matamoras, Teresa (Rex) Armstrong of Rinard Mills; 9 grandchildren: Melissa, Gretta, Gerald, Jr., Vanessa, Rex Jr., Justin, Ashley, John-Michael, Madison and 16 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Gilbert Briggs of Woodsfield.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 4 sisters and 5 brothers.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday (April 11) at 12:00 noon at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial following in Salem Hall Cemetery. Family will greet friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8. Messages of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.Lankfordfh.com.
