John C. Cox
John C. Cox, 67, of Marietta passed away at 8:25 am, Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born on December 19, 1951, in Akron, Ohio, to the late Harvey Cox and Ruth Patterson of Marietta.
John was employed by the Marietta Police Department for 5 years and later employed by AEP as a lineman. He was a Cleveland Browns fan and loved his dogs and his Daisy Dukes.
On February 26, 1972, he married Ila Tice who survives with one son, Matt (Carla) Cox of Marietta; 4 grandchildren: Cayley Cox, Sheena, Robbie and Tasha Spencer and his brother, Tom (Becky) Cox of Marietta and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his son Travis on April 29, 2019.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday (July 18) at 11:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Travis Taylor officiating. Family will greet friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 until 8. Messages of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.Lankfordfh.com.
