John D. Armor, Sr.

John D. Armor, Sr., 98, of Marietta retired from his service on earth October 30, 2019. Born February 1, 1921, he was a son of the late Louis H. Armor, Sr. and Nelle Veon Armor.

John was a member of the American Legion Post 64, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5108 and the Masonic Lodge. He served with the Marine Corp during World War II as Private First Class (1941-1946) then retired from the U. S. Army Reserves Engineering Battalion as Master Sergeant. He worked as an Engineer with Monongahela Power retiring in 1985.

He is survived by his wife, Sara L. Carmichael, whom he married October 25, 1946; three children: John Jr. (Betty), Barb and Tammy (Earl Carpenter); grandchildren: Tim, Toby, Traci, Bo and Jeromee; great grandchildren: Gage, Lake, Jax, Ethan, Ella and Nina.

As per John’s wishes that we honor, there will be no service as he wants to be remembered as a man who lived life to the fullest.
