Josephine “Jo” Martin

Josephine “Jo” Martin, 89, of Marietta passed away at 3:17 pm, Sunday, May 10, 2020, at her home. She was born on February 26, 1931, in Marietta a daughter of David C. and Mildred A. Fordham Kaneff.

Jo was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Marietta and a member of the Singles and Doubles Sunday School Class. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved to read.

On December 3, 1950, she married Thomas Martin who survives with 2 daughters: Myla (Jerry) Mitchem and Marian (Guy) Davis both of Marietta; 8 grandchildren: Jamie Fox of Thailand who was raised by her grandparents, Scott Mitchem of Cleveland, OH, Amanda (Bryan) Topnick of Pittsburgh, PA, Benson (Jyl) Davis of Lebanon, OH, Rachel Davis of Marietta, Jered (Lacey) Mitchem of Little Hocking, OH, Jon (Brianna) Mitchem of Marietta, Lexi Blake of Marietta; 10 great grandchildren, her sister Jan (Dennis) Randolph of Marietta and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Marsha Fox whom she joined on Mother’s Day.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Marietta Hospice, Dr. Lloyd Dennis and Barb Poling and Saundra Easton for their loving care of Jo.
